چکیده

Introduction/Background* Assessment of lymph node status is essential in patients with cervical cancer, particularly to determine prognosis and further therapy. The current pathological protocol states that only tissue visible or palpable nodes investigated, the residual fatty stored. We determined a retrospective cohort study value embedding examining all removed tissue, compared protocol. Methodology Patients surgically treated (radical hysterectomy pelvic dissection) for early stage cancer at Erasmus MC between 2017 2019 were included. In multivariate analysis extra count BMI initial count. Result(s)* Ninety-eight included, was assessed 50 (51%). median number found by conventional assessment 26 (range 9-58) 9 0-28) tissue. Ten (10.2%) had positive nodes, during assessment. above 30 kg/m2, more are detected under kg/m2 (R2=0.265). calculated costs rest €240. Conclusion* results finding 30% nodes. This did not result detection metastases. do think it worthwhile investigate women high (>30 kg/m2).

Sentinel lymph node in cervical cancer

Background: Cervical cancer is the second most common type of cancer among women. Effective screening programs can help cancer detection in early phases and reduce death. Metastasis to lymph nodes is one of the most prognostic factors in patients who underwent surgery. Also, a positive result from pathology report alert oncologist as a cause of death. Sentinel lymph node biopsy has been widely ...

Time frame of sentinel node visualization in early breast cancer patients using intradermal injection of Tc-99m phytate: Imaging beyond 45 minutes does not yield more information

Introduction: One of the major problems of lymphoscintigraphy is the time of patient presence in the nuclear medicine wards. The operating room schedule can be compromised if the patients stay longer than usual in the nuclear medicine departments. However, too early imaging can be falsely negative for sentinel node visualization and delayed imaging may be required. The aim of t...

Prognostic Value of Lymph Node Ratio in comparison to Lymph Node Metastases in Stage III Colon Cancer

Background & Objectives: Colon cancer is currently of high incidence and mortality rate. Identifying the factors influencing its prognosis can be very beneficial to its clinical treatment. Recent studies have shown that lymph nodes ratio can be considered as an important prognostic factor. The aim of the present study is to investigate the effect of this factor on the prognosis of the ...

FDG uptake heterogeneity in FIGO IIb cervical carcinoma does not predict pelvic lymph node involvement

TRANSLATIONAL RELEVANCE Many types of cancer are located and assessed via positron emission tomography (PET) using the 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) radiotracer of glucose uptake. There is rapidly increasing interest in exploiting the intra-tumor heterogeneity observed in these FDG-PET images as an indicator of disease outcome. If this image heterogeneity is of genuine prognostic value, then it ...

Prediction Axillary Lymph Node Involvement Status on Breast Cancer Data

Introduction: one of the foremost usual methods for evaluating breast cancer is the removal of axillary lymph nodes (ALN) which include complications such as edema, limited hand movements, and lymph accumulation. Although studies have shown that the sentinel gland condition represents the axillary nodules context in the mammary gland, the efficacy, and safety of the guard node biopsy need to be...
